Today I wanted to share some wardrobe essentials. These are items that I think every woman needs to have – they are timeless and can be worn multiple ways. I usually spotlight new pieces that are super affordable, but here I have some items that are more expensive – I did this because I think great pieces are worth the investment. In my opinion, if you buy something you can wear forever it is worth getting a good quality item. I have nothing against getting trendy pieces from H&M, Forever 21, Target, etc – but those pieces aren’t going to last forever and stand the test of time. Here are 4 items I think every woman should have in her closet —
Great Pair of Jeans
Take time trying on lots of different jeans in many washes and styles. Nordstrom is a fantastic place to do this because of their wide selection and amazing staff. My favorite pair of jeans are my Skyline Skinny jeans by Paige. They come in a variety of washes – normal denim and then almost black which I love! – and I wear them year round. They are great for dressing up for work or wearing with comfy shirts for the weekend. They were pricey – almost $200 – but I’ve had them for over 2 years and wear them 3/4 days a week!
Black Boots
I did a ton of research on boots before deciding to splurge on Frye Melissa boots. I am so happy I did because they are SO comfy. I can wear them with denim, leggings, skirts or dresses. They are completely timeless and only get comfier the more you wear them! They are built super well so they don’t look worn at all. I do treat the leather with a balm I got at Nordstrom and keep them away from direct heat (like you should do for all leather). I wear these multiple days each week in the winter – they were totally worth it.
Jean Jacket
I mentioned jean jackets as a must-have item for Spring in this post, and I really meant it. I wear my Madewell jacket ALL THE TIME (wearing it here!). You can definitely get a jacket for cheaper than this one, but I love how soft the denim is and this wash is perfect. It hits me at the right spot – not too short or too long – and I can roll the sleeves up or keep them down. It is so versatile!
LBD
I love dresses and a few years ago I bought a black dress at Madewell that has become one of my most worn items. I can wear it in any season and for literally any occasion. I’ve worn it to weddings, bachelorettes, work, and just for fun. It is so comfy and so flattering! It’s the perfect canvas to dress up with boots, jewelry, scarves or different jackets. I can’t find it online anymore, but here are a few similar options that would be so cute! This, this, this, this, this or this.
