Moving Monday

Happy Monday!

The past few days have been a whirlwind for sure. My parents moved out of their home of 27 years and into a super cute apartment! We’ve spend the last few weeks packing so it was great to get the move basically done. My husband and I are staying with them in the new place and my brother comes into town soon to see it – it will be super fun! I feel like I’ve become a pro packer and mover now – our move from St Louis should be a breeze 😉

Today I wanted to share some random things that are on my mind right now for moving and home decor – this is going to be scattered for sure! Now that we are in the process of buying a house (more on that here, but more to come I promise!) my Pinterest has become house focused again! You can see my profile here.

The house we bought has a corner fireplace so I am looking for inspiration on how to decorate. Also we need a rug and new couch (and maybe another chair?) so I’m constantly looking at Pinterest for ideas. I like this couch but don’t want another white couch (too much cleaning!) – this is a pretty leather color but a bit out of our price range! This type of ottoman is on my list – I love how you can add a tray and it’s a table or just use it as a footstool. I really like this rug but pink is too out there for my main room and I don’t think my husband would go for it. But I really do like the pattern!

If you have any suggestions for putting together your style or finding how things work together let me know. I’m trying to plan cohesively so we don’t buy any pieces that are hard to match in future homes or rooms. I love the “modern farmhouse” style – aka Fixer Upper – but maybe a bit toned down or more traditional. Basically I don’t want to buy something and then realize it’s ugly/doesn’t coordinate later!

Here are some more photos that are inspiring me – enjoy and have a great week!
