This weekend was a big one guys – my husband graduated from Medical School! It’s so weird that he’s an official doctor now. Well he still has residency to do, but I can’t believe that’s where he is now! It was a fun weekend with family so I wanted to recap and share some photos.
Our families arrived in St Louis on Thursday afternoon and we went to the Central West End for dinner. It’s a cute neighborhood with tons of restaurants, bars, etc – a great location for a night out! We went to Pi Pizzeria – highly recommend if you’re looking for great pizza. We got the Bucktown, Western Addition and Central West End. The CWE was my favorite because of the arugula – I’m really loving arugula on pizza lately!
My outfit for running errands before the fam arrived and then dinner! You can read more about this dress in this post.
Friday was the big graduation day – so proud of my husband! It’s crazy to think he’s actually a Doctor know. Or a bit scary….depending on when you ask me! The ceremony was great and the speaker was amazing. I’ve been to some graduations with horrible speakers so it was fantastic to enjoy the speaker.
My dress is old from Madewell, but similar here // Necklace // Similar shoes
Friday night we went to Charlie Gitto’s for a celebratory dinner – another favorite of ours! They have some of the best Italian we’ve had in STL. I ate waayyyy too much and was sad I couldn’t finish my Tiramisu. A good thing I guess?

Saturday I went for a walk with my mom and then made dinner for both our families. Pulled pork, kale salad, and baked beans! The weather didn’t really cooperate but it was so fun to just be able to hang out with everyone. I can’t wait for people to visit us in Lexington!
The best part about life events (like graduations) is being able to spend time with family without normal stuff popping up. You can ignore your chores, to-do lists, and errands for a few days and spend time together. That doesn’t mean it’s not there – yesterday was spent packing and organizing! We made some serious progress on packing our kitchen and packed all our pictures/decorations.
Today we’re going to have brunch with friends that are in town and then continue packing! I want to get as much done as possible so we can enjoy Memorial Day weekend. On that note I’m going to only post three times this week (instead of 5) since we have SO much going on. I’ll try and get back to normal posting once our schedule is a bit more normal. But who knows when that will be with moving, unpacking, finding a new job, etc — wish us luck! Have a great week!
