So I got my first Nordstrom Anniversary Sale order in the mail this week and couldn’t wait to get home and try everything on! I did place more orders after this first one so there’s more to come! Even though it’s 100 in Lexington I’m looking forward to fall and cooler temps – so it’s fun to get some new items for that time of year.
The sale is public TODAY so you guys can get these items – Yay! Some are sold out but Nordstrom restocks super frequently! I talked about my wish list in this post so today I’m going to share what I actually got – and what I really think! I’ll start with the items I’m not sold on first and then move onto my favorites. Misses
Thermal Top – $24.90 ($38 after sale)
I really really wanted to love this top because I saw it on so many other bloggers! Unfortunately it just doesn’t work for me – it’s not long enough (I don’t like tops that fall right at my hip). My arms are also wayyy too long for this – it just hits at the wrong spot. Also I don’t like the extra fabric under my arms? So it’s going back. For reference, I got this in a small.
Ruffle Sleeve Tunic Dress – sold out currently
UGH. I really wanted to love this dress! It’s so cute and the ruffles are so fun! And boy is it soft…sad day that it just isn’t flattering! The top is shapeless and there’s too much extra fabric (under my arms again, so weird!), but it’s tight at the hips. I got a medium and maybe a large would be looser, but then there would definitely be too much fabric. I personally don’t love how I look in dresses that are semi-fitted, but if you like this you should watch for it to come back in stock!
Gibson Bell Sleeve Top – $39.90 ($59 after sale)
So this top is cute but a little boxy and I just felt meh about it. I’ve learned that if you don’t love something when you first try it on you won’t love it later – so not keeping it! It’s very soft fleece (definitely a bonus) but I just don’t love it enough to keep it.
Hits
Lush Ruffle Sleeve Blouse – $31.90 ($49 after sale)
I love the polka dots and I’m obviously obsessed with statement sleeves! (See this post and this post!) I think it would be fun for work and also easy to throw on for the weekend. I’m considering getting it in more colors! I got this in a small and it fits perfectly.
Lush Raw Edge Tee – $15.90 ($24 after sale)
Ok don’t mind the fact that I need to iron or steam this shirt…but if you’re looking for a basic shirt this is a great option. I don’t have any plan white T-shirts so I saw this and got it! I got a medium and love the oversized look. It is a great shirt to layer for fall, so stock up if you need a basic T! I might get more colors!
Hinge Block Heel Bootie – $79.90 ($119.95 after sale)
I wear my black booties all the time so I decided to get a brown pair! I love the cut out detail and the heel height is perfect – not too tall but not flat. Plus the block nature of the heel makes it easy to wear! HIGHLY recommend if you’re looking for fall boots!!!! My color sold out but it would be super cute in black also.
Dreamer’s Cardigan – sold out currently
Full disclosure – this cardigan is massive and definitely not figure flattering. But it’s so so soft! I want to wear it all the time! Hopefully they restock it for those of you who want a comfy sweater for the cooler days.
BP Cardigan – $31.90 ($49 after sale)
Another practical item – a basic grey cardigan for work. I needed more cardigans for the office and this is perfect! I got a small and it’s just the right size. I love the drape and fit – another item I highly recommend for a basic!
Also now that I’ve had some more time to shop I placed another order (embarrassing but true!). I can’t wait to get this chambray top – give me ALL the chambray! I will definitely be wearing this before the fall. This waterfall vest is going to be so perfect for work! It’s a fall version of my utility vest that I wear constantly. I can’t wait to see how it is on!
