Old Navy Swing Dress// Vest // Sunglasses // Newer Version of Boots, other pair I own // Purse
I should preface this by saying the dress is $30 FULL PRICED. And if you pay attention to Old Navy sales you should be able to get it for wayyyy cheaper. I got it for only $19! Everyone needs basic dresses they can dress up or down, and I think this swing dress is a great wardrobe workhorse. It comes in 5 colors so you don’t have to be as boring as me with the black 🙂
I have worn it on the blog before (sorry!) when I talked about accessories – and today I just want to talk about the dress. You can wear it with any shoe – boots, flats, or even sandals for these transitional temps. Plus you can add a vest (like here!) or scarf on top. This dress is basically like a pair of dark jeans – an essential you can throw on for virtually any occasion. Work, play, cozy weekends – anytime!
A quick side note – I got these Frye boots almost 8 years ago and I still absolutely love them. They were a splurge for sure, but the longevity and comfort makes it worth it. The leather wears so well and they get even comfier with time. This pair is definitely my “trendier” pair, but I feel like they’re perfect for Kentucky! I’ve actually talked about Frye boots a lot with coworkers lately because Frye just opened a store in Lexington. I think the boots are 100% worth the investment, but be sure to pick a pair that you could see yourself wearing for years. Don’t go with the trendiest item for your first purchase. Stick with something like the Melissa (other pair I own and love!!), harness tall or short, or these booties.
Ok, sorry for that detour – back to the dress! It’s also super soft and I LOVE the length of the sleeves. Sleeves are frequently too short for me – and no one likes a 3/4 length sleeve (when they’re supposed to be full length). I’m wearing a medium here but could have gotten a small – I honestly just liked how it was a little less clingy. The length is perfect as well – not short like so many dresses from cheaper retailers.
Like some of my other wardrobe staples – utility vest, Madewell jeans – I’m going to have to watch how many times I wear this per week. I definitely need to be careful to not wear it 3 days a week to work! That might be a little too much love…
Tomorrow I’m going to head to an orchard with some friends and then (hopefully) do some home decor shopping! I need to get some planters for our front porch and maybe some cute fall stuff for inside. My husband is working in the afternoon so I’m going to use that time to do some decorating and organizing at home – just easier when I can bring things out from storage, mess around with it, and then clean up on my own. I’m looking at planters like this, mums to go in them, and then some cute faux pumpkins for inside! I hope you guys have a great Friday and a great weekend!
