Plaid Top // Skirt (similar) // Purse // Shoes

Today I wanted to share a look that I would wear to the office for these early fall temps. And if there’s one pattern that screams fall, it’s plaid! I love plaid and embrace alllll different varieties of the pattern. Sidenote: I’m basically just describing fall shirts – I’m not going to be wearing plaid pants anytime soon. I’m not that trendy.

Plaid – like stripes – is one of the few patterns I like wearing. I’m normally a solid-color girl and I love my basics. I always gravitate towards black, navy, grey…so plaid is a fun way to shake up those fall (and winter!) outfits. Pair a plaid top with a solid bottom and you’re ready to rock!

ALSO – what if I told you that every item (minus my shoes, which are under $25 and from Target) is from Old Navy? It’s true! Top, skirt, and purse . The purse is from last year but still available, and the top and skirt are from last year too but I’ve found super similar versions. The top is definitely boxy (just a heads up) but it’s cute tucked in. I love this skirt because it’s tight and then has a bit of a flare. I even have it in red! Which is 100% crazy for me. I’ve worn it for Thanksgiving and Christmas with tights – it’s super versatile. I found a nearly identical version at LOFT and pro-tip: wait for it to go on sale. LOFT does sales all the time so you should be able to get it for 50% off soon! Here is another version from Topshop – I love the hem detail!

I think this skirt is appropriate for a creative workplace, and for a corporate setting with tights. I’ve worn it when I worked in a corporate setting and didn’t feel like it was too short. Advertising is much more informal so honestly anything goes! I still feel like I’m the most dressy person in the office most days 🙂 But as always, do what works best for your setting.

Tuesdays are always my longest work day – client meetings every morning and then I stay at the office until Bible Study at 6:30. The church is 10 minutes from work but in the opposite direction of my house – so it just doesn’t make sense to go home. All that means that I’m happy when Wednesday rolls around! I’ve always loved Wednesdays because we’re half way through the week and only two more days to go. Wednesdays just seem to be good days! Hopefully this post won’t jinx today…
