One of my first posts on the blog was a post about skincare – and since I’ve discovered new items in the last 12 months, I wanted to do an updated winter skincare post for all my new readers!
So here are some items I’ve been using lately and really loving!
GloPro Microneedling
I got a GloPro from my mom over Christmas because she never used it! So I said I would take it and I’ve been loving it – I use it three times a week. I had to look up some information on how to use it and found this video very helpful. I think it helps my face soak up moisture or oil better, and I feel like my face does “glow” the next day. Maybe it’s in my head so I’m going to continue to use so I can give you a full review in the future. It’s a pricey tool (almost $200) so I’ll let you know if it’s worth your investment! So far so good though!
*Side note – a lot of negativity on this tool is how it doesn’t reverse wrinkles. I think the GloPro is best for preventative or small concerns, anything major should be addressed by a skincare professional. This isn’t a medical grade tool so it’s not as powerful as a laser, in-office microneedling, etc!
Argan Oil
I talked about argan oil from Josie Maran in my original winter skincare post, and it’s still a favorite! It’s super moisturizing without being sticky or oil-y. It sinks in super quickly (especially if I apply after using the GloPro!) and makes my skin feel soft all night. It is fairly heavy so I stick to applying it at night – I could apply it in the AM but I would just need to allow it to soak in before applying makeup. I really only use this in the winter because it provides so much moisture, and I don’t need that during humid summers. A small vial has lasted me a whole year, so don’t feel like you need to buy the biggest size!
Overnight Peel
I’ve had the Kiehl’s Overnight Peel for a while but just started using it regularly within the last few months. It’s a peel that works while you sleep – so you apply it after you wash your face and let it stay on all night. You don’t need to take it off in the morning or anything, it just does it’s job overnight! I can definitely tell I used it in the morning because it makes my skin look refreshed. I wouldn’t recommend using it everyday however – it did make me breakout when I used it too much. So I stick to 2/3 nights a week (usually the nights I don’t use the GloPro!) and that’s working well.
Eye Cream
My under eye area is SO dry lately, so I’ve been loading it up with Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream. It doesn’t move, moisturizes well, and a little bit goes a long way. I don’t use the peel or GloPro under my eyes because that area is too sensitive, so I really try to use the eye cream daily.
Vaseline
Ok so this is an odd beauty essential, but for areas on my face that are super dry (like cracked) I apply some Vaseline right before bed. I usually put some on around my nose and then on my lips. It really seals in moisture! I know it’s not the most glamorous product but it really does work for those extremely dry or cracked areas. I don’t need this as much in KY but I really relied on it when we were back in MN over Christmas! The dryness is REAL up there.
So there you have it – an updated skincare post! I use all these items multiple days a week (if not daily) and really love everything. I’ve repurchased when I run out (except for the GloPro for obvious reasons) so you know I really do love these items. Next step is finding a vitamin C serum to try….so many options!
