weekend recap

Happy Monday everyone! I had hoped to share an outfit post today but it rained all weekend – so instead I’ll do a quick weekend recap!

We’ve been watching the Olympics each night – I love it so much! We watch the Olympics all the time when they’re in session. I love skating (who doesn’t!) but I also love the random events like the biathlon. Cross-country skiing is so tough, and that’s a fun way to watch it. Most of the live action is at night with the time change, so there isn’t much to watch during the day. I’ll have so many shows to catch up on when the Olympics are over!

Saturday morning I went to Cyclebar – and I had TOTALLY forgotten how hard spinning classes are. I loved how dark it was and the instructor was amazing. She had put together a great playlist that kept the pace up and helped through the hills and intervals. Plus you can see your stats on the boards if you’re competitive like I am 🙂 I will definitely go back!

After that I had a baby shower for a friend – it was the cutest Valentine’s Day theme! She’s having a girl so it was the perfect setup. It’s always fun to realize the friends you’ve made at events like this. I’m so lucky that the other ER wives are social – not all programs are like that! Plus no one else understand the weird stresses and schedules of a resident than other wives. It’s really not comparable to anything else, and even people who are in Medical School or PA school, etc, aren’t experiencing the same thing. So it’s fun to have a group of people who just get it! And to celebrate the exciting things that happen in our lives!

For dinner Saturday we went to OBC Kitchen – so yummy and such fun ambiance. And no, this wasn’t an “early Valentine’s Day” – it was just a date night. I seriously don’t get Valentine’s Day and really don’t feel the need to celebrate it…but I know I’m in the minority! Oh and then we watched some Olympics – shocker I know.

Sunday was a major cleaning day. It’s been a few weeks since I deep cleaned every room, and with my husband at work I could just crank some music and get to it! (Not possible when he’s sleeping after a night shift, etc) Oh and cleaning is so much more fun with my Dyson – the convenience factor is amazing!

Some things I’ve read lately and wanted to share….

This blogging post from Carly. I’ve seen all the fake Gucci belts on Instagram and they’re super tempting. I can’t believe the bloggers who travel every week and never re-wear outfits. That’s just not reality! Anyways, if you want a good read about blogging you should definitely check it out.

I look forward to these “coffee talk” posts from Liz Adams and Somewhere Lately every week! They answer questions and it’s fun to read tons of topics. They share favorites, give advice, and help people plan outfits for various events. These are the types of posts that Instagram just can’t give you and why reading blogs is actually fun!

Hope you have a great start to the week, and see you here on Wednesday!
