Stripes for Spring

Stripes are a pattern you can wear all year, but they seem especially appropriate for spring! I’ve been wearing them more often and I’ve noticed a lot of my coworkers are too.

So naturally I picked up another striped top at Target a few weeks ago – I just can’t stop! I’m going to blame all the time alone lately. I’ve had a lot of time to shop – both online and in person – and it’s hard to always have self control. If you follow me on Instagram (@helen.loves) you might have seen some of the other Target items I’ve picked up lately!

Ok back to the topic at hand – stripes for spring and this top! It’s a basic shirt made fun with the little ruffle detail. I would say it’s thicker than a normal t-shirt but thinner than a sweater. If that makes sense? It’s probably going to be too warm for real summer heat, but it’s perfect for spring when you want something thicker but don’t want to wear a sweater.

Top: Target // Jeans: Madewell // Shoes: Target – also just bought these in black because I wear them so often! // Purse: Old Navy – from last year, this one is very similar // Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

It’s funny how stripes feel like such a spring pattern – I just don’t reach for them in the winter. But they’re so versatile I’m not sure why I think that? Random I know!

The weather has been sunny the past few days and it has put me in such a great mood. I don’t care what the temperature is if it’s sunny. Rain is the worst because you can’t do anything – cold I can handle! We hiked down at the Pinnacles in Berea on Saturday and it was fantastic to sit out on the sun once we made it to the top. If you’re looking for a great hike I really recommend it! Berea is about 45 minutes from Lexington and it’s super adorable – next time we might make a whole day of it!

Well happy Monday and here’s to another week – I hope you have a great day! See you back here Wednesday!
