In case you missed it, I shared a 10 day capsule wardrobe two weeks ago!
I did a challenge where I wore 10 pieces over 10 days – and now that it’s over I wanted to recap the entire two weeks. You can read the full post here, but here are all the outfits from the 10 days!
day 1
day 2
Striped Tops + Black Pants — happy hour at Kentucky Native was the BEST DECISION ever!
day 3
day 4
day 5 – no photo because I had family in town but I wore my White Top & jeans!
day 6
Jean Jacket + Striped Tops + Black Pants
day 7
Utility Vest + White Top + jeans
day 8
day 9 – headshots at work so I broke the rules!
day 10
Having a “uniform” was super nice! I honestly didn’t feel very constrained or like I had no options. It just limited by thinking and made it more streamlined.
I realized I can mix and match my clothes in SO many ways when challenged! I don’t wear pieces as many ways as I could because I don’t have to – but this showed me that some pieces can be worn endless ways
And lastly, I really love basics. I did crave some more variety at the end but I could honestly wear a denim top and jeans 50% of the time! It also reinforces why I don’t spend a ton of money on “trendy” items – they won’t go into heavy rotation so it’s not worth it for me.
I think this was a fun challenge and I’m going to make it a seasonal event! So look for it again this fall and then in the winter – layers are pretty easy to mix and match, so I feel like those will be easier than this one. What do you guys think – would you try an outfit challenge like this? Or even go all the way and wear a complete capsule wardrobe? Let me know here or over on Instagram! (@helen.loves)
