I can’t believe that the 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is around the corner!
If you have a Nordstrom card like me you can start shopping on Thursday the 12th! Insane to be thinking about fall already (HOW are we past the 4th?!?!) but this is honestly one of the best and biggest sales of the year.
So if you’re a sale newbie I wanted to round up some tips and tricks to getting the most out of the sale!

The sale has FALL items – so you won’t be getting summer clothes!
Take stock of essentials you need to re-buy – i.e. my favorite lotion, dry shampoo, or everyday lip balm! They might not all be on sale but they could be, and you will want to get them before items sell out! Which brings me to my next point….
Open a Nordstrom card – we have a debit card and it’s great to earn rewards and get cash towards future purchases. And since it’s a debit card we don’t have to worry about having a hard credit check or paying bills. With a Nordstrom card you get early access to the sale – and things WILL sell out before opening to the general public.
Make a list of items you need (or want) for the fall. I want some more oversized sweaters and tops that would work for the office and the weekend! I might also pick up another pair of tennis shoes – always a good pick! Or a purse, can you ever have too many?
Most importantly, set a budget! I have a compulsive budgeting life so I’ve got this factored into my July budget! Then I can spend without feeling guilty or feeling like I’m going overboard.
