Before Summer officially started I wrote a list of things I wanted to do, so today I’m doing a checkin!
Here’s the original list – edited with what we’ve done!
- get to a lake
do a weekend trip — My husband has a pretty ok schedule in June and July so it would be great to be able to find a weekend to get away! We’re trying to plan a trip back to MN, but if that doesn’t happen maybe we’ll get away somewhere else!Currently back in Minnesota writing this – yay! It was a fun weekend trip and we got to see a lot of friends and family. Always nice to be back and the trips are NEVER long enough!- Have friends over for a bbq
Go to a historic site– We went to Perryville a few weekends ago, which is a Civil War battlefield about an hour south of Lexington. We love battlefields and already are planning to go back in the fall when we can hike in cooler temps. There are lots of trails and paths that would be perfect for a day of hiking.- Read 3 books – send me your suggestions!!! — OK I haven’t started any…….
- Have a picnic
- Bike in a new place
Try a new restaurant– I’m going to count Burger Week for this one, tried Big City Pizza!- Have a happy hour with girlfriends – including the new intern wives!
Hike a new place in the Red River Gorge– No photos because it was the MOST amazing weather day ever. 80, no humidity and a breeze. Weekend perfection!
I can’t believe July is half over – insanity again. But I’m already ready for some cooler temps, if I’m being honest 🙂 We’ve got a lot of fun things planned the rest of the summer so the only item I’m “concerned” about is reading – gotta get on that!
I also think it’s funny how everyone has a Summer bucketlist – myself included! – but that doesn’t always translate into other seasons. Honestly, summer is my least favorite season (it’s too hot for me) so I might keep the bucketlists going year round! Gotta share that you can still do fun things in the winter as well 🙂 Have a great week!
