So I know I’ve talked for months about our family room decor, but it’s such a big project to design a room from scratch and it took me way longer than expected.
In the past I’ve bought things quickly and then regretted it, and I DID NOT want that to happen this time. I didn’t want to have to purchase new items in a year or so because I rushed to buy “something” to fill the space. So that’s why it took almost a year to finish this room!
My husband isn’t picky but I did want his input on some of the bigger purchases, like furniture and the console. So with his crazy schedule it took us months to finally decide on something – and I’m so happy with what we’ve picked. Keep scrolling for pictures and exact items!
A few notes on what we picked – I looked a lot for cheaper alternatives than Pottery Barn but didn’t find anything I loved as much. I knew we would have these pieces for years so I didn’t want to compromise on quality or comfort! My parents have this same couch so I knew I liked it and waited for it to go on sale – getting it 30% off made it SUPER affordable. (Under $800!) In fact I got all of the “major” pieces for the room on sale – Black Friday for the TV, sales for the couches and chairs. So once I knew what I wanted I had to wait a bit, and then got them at a great price.
