Summer is winding down and I can already tell what my top summer items have been!
Here are the items I’ve been wearing every weekday and weekend – for real! I don’t post endless pictures of these items but I really wear things again and again. Plus embarking on a 10 by 10 challenge has made me realize the items I wear often and should consider investing in. Here are the items I’ve been rocking allllll summer!
shorts – duh!
I devoted a whole post to denim shorts, so there’s more information over there! But short story – you have to have a good pair for these steamy temps! I didn’t have any shorts I loved last year, but I love the two pairs I got from Target so I wear them all the time.
espadrilles
I’m so addicted to my Sole Society Audrina wedges – they are the shoes you can wear all day and still be comfortable! And there’s no better summer shoe than a cute espadrille, am I right? Plus tons of my coworkers have commented on them and a few have purchased them too! They’re honestly the perfect summer shoe for every event – work or weekends. And this outfit leads to my next fav…
casual dresses
I love shorts but every night when I come home I throw on a dress – and it’s basically always this one. I’m actually wearing it right now as I write this post! So if I’m not wearing a dress to work I’m wearing one at home and on the weekends, because they’re so perfect for steamy temps. Light, flowy dresses are the epitome of cute and cool!
basic t-shirts
So I just got this top from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but great t-shirts are a true summer essential! I love shirts that aren’t transparent, hold their shape, and are a bit longer. I haven’t tried this Madewell t-shirt but lots of people rave about them for similar reasons!
bandanas!
Bandanas have been a true summer essential! I wear them to work, on the weekends, or to BBQs – they’re make a basic outfit more fun and festive. I got three colors of this one from Abercrombie (sold out now unfortunately) – that’s how much I love them!
Well there you have it for this Monday! I’m heading back to MN for a friend’s wedding on Wednesday so I’m going to be packing and organizing tonight and tomorrow night. I am still torn about what I’m going to wear (leaning towards this dress). I think it’s going to be a game-time decision! My mom is doing all the flowers and decorations so I don’t think we will make it to the ceremony, but I’m excited to see friends at the reception!
