There are SO many fun things to think about when you’re pregnant – a nursery is an essential part!
Before I was pregnant we talked about which room we might use for a nursery, and now we’re full steam ahead. Our office is becoming the nursery, and our guest bedroom will become a combined office/bedroom! So I’ve been searching Pinterest for design inspiration and wanted to share some ideas with you and some thoughts…
So we definitely want a statement wall, and I’m considering buffalo check temporary wallpaper (like this!), shiplap or board and batten. You can see some examples in the photos below. We’ve already done one shiplap wall – tutorial here! – so I know it would look good. Maybe doing something different would be too inconsistent with the house?
In terms of furniture I’m thinking super simple. I don’t want a massive, detailed crib – this simple white crib is much more my style! I also want a dresser that’s timeless and we will just add a changing pad on top.
For accessories, I want a storage basket and a foot pouf! I also love baskets like this. Random I know 🙂 and maybe a white throw like this as an accessory since we have brown carpet. (Not the cutest) We’re using a rocker we already have so that’s not super exciting, but we will be getting it recovered.
In terms of wall decor, I love animal prints like this and this. How simple and cute! And I’m not sure if we’ll have a mobile…I feel like they are a LOT cuter than in the past. I might be able to get onboard with something like this!
As you can see from above (and you’ll see below too) everything is pretty gender neutral now. And even though we are going to find out if we’re having a boy or a girl I don’t think I’ll go overboard with colors. I’m not a big color person, if you can’t tell by now 🙂
