Finding maternity jeans is HARD guys.
I really thought I would be able to find a cheap pair that would work and call it a day. I haven’t bought any maternity specific clothes besides these work pants and these joggers, and I’m trying to spend minimally because it’s just another quick season. I definitely didn’t think I would have to place 4 separate orders to find something that worked.
So I tried ASOS and Target with no luck. A few of my coworkers and friends actually just resorted to wearing leggings all pregnancy because they couldn’t find anything that fit well. I’m not comfortable with that – I can’t wear leggings to work daily – so I needed another option! I’ve found two brands that fit and I’m going to be rocking all pregnancy – Old Navy and Madewell.
The real gamechanger was to wait til I had an actual bump to try on pairs of jeans. Trying before I had a real bump just didn’t work!
I also feel like maternity clothes in general are really ugly. Instead of making cute clothes in maternity sizes, it seems like brand make boxy, ugly, shirts that have bows right above your stomach. Who wants that?! So instead my style hasn’t changed much at all – I’ve just had to buy some pants in other sizes.
I also wanted to do another pregnancy checkin since I’m 21 weeks – over halfway! It’s crazy how quickly time is flying and I’m loving every second of it.
I’ve been feeling great – no nausea, tiredness, or real discomfort. I’m still getting used to sleeping on my side (I’m a back sleeper) so sometimes I wake up with some serious hip pain. Basically it feels like I have sores where I’ve been sleeping on my hips…any tips? Putting a pillow between my legs doesn’t seem to help, and since we only have a queen bed I don’t want to get a pregnancy pillow.
We’ve been adding a ton of things to our registries at Target and Buy Buy Baby. I think we’ve landed on the Uppababy Vista stroller – I’m so excited for it! But we’re probably going to get a Nuna carseat so maybe we should look at Nuna or Baby Jogger….what do you guys think?
This weekend we’re going to drive up to Ikea to pick up a crib and dresser. It’s so fun to feel like it’s more real every day. I don’t remember the last time in my life I was this excited daily! Even wedding planning didn’t have this level of joy and happiness associated with it – it’s just a totally different feeling. Plus both my husband and I are super excited, so it’s nice to experience that together.
Being pregnant is SO amazing. I’m sure it will have some less comfortable moments later, but I’m loving every second right now!
