Oh Summer – I can’t believe you’re basically over! Here we are at Labor Day and it’s crazy how quickly this season has flown by. I have really slacked on blogging the last month so I wanted to do a recap of what has been going on in “real life.”
June
Lots of hanging around Lexington including a walk at the Kentucky Horse Park, and lots of time at the Cemetery. (Yes I know)
We finally made it to the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings downtown.
Had a family date night in the Distillery District – we tried Wise Bird Cider for the first time. They have a great patio! I’m a cider fan so I enjoyed it, my husband not so much haha.
July
Someone got her first two teeth RIGHT at the 5 month mark – insanity.
Went back to Minnesota for almost two weeks – YAY!
August
Someone started solids – which has been so so fun! We took a class from Feeding Littles and have been doing Baby Led Weaning (BLW). It’s nice to just feed her what we eat (without salt, and cut up/cooked so it’s safe for her) and have her at the table with us. We have yet to find a food she doesn’t like and she gets SO excited when it’s time to eat!
We ventured to the Cincinnati Zoo. Complete with MASSIVE blowout on the way up that completely destroyed our carseat. Happens every time we drive. I’m not exaggerating! Haha.
We celebrated birthdays, had a date night, did lots of walks in the nicer weather, and loved playing with our fun girl.
Did a hike at the Pinnacles in Berea – might be our favorite hiking place in Kentucky. We got an Ergobaby 360 and it has been amazing to use. We love it!
***We started CRAWLING on the 30th!!!!!!!
Overall it was a great and speedy summer. I made pretty good progress on my summer bucket list. We still need to go to a Horse Farm Tour – gosh that’s the hardest one to get done!
Well this was a completely random post but I hope you have a fantastic Labor Day and that you’ve had a great summer!
