16 Days & Counting

Well guys, we’ve been home for 16 days! In case you’re reading this in the far future, start here and see my thoughts on COVID-19.

We have been at home for the past 16 days. Obviously my husband is still going to work (ERs are where it’s at! lol). I’ve left twice – for a grocery pickup order and to pickup a to-go order at Great Bagel.

Honestly the time has been flying by – which is a good thing. Every day at home feels more normal and we’ve settled into a groove for sure. I am loving this uninterrupted time and it feels like a blessing in disguise to be forced to be home. We don’t have hockey, dinners with friends, errands to run or playdates. Obviously we miss all those things but it’s allowed us to just focus on family.

So you’re probably wondering how we’ve been passing the time and staying sane? Despite a few *very* anxious days – not going to lie, some days are stressful! – we have settled into a great routine. Here’s what we do daily to keep ourselves happy.

Daily Walks

Guys GET OUTSIDE! But social distance! Walking around your neighborhood is the perfect way to do this. With the weather getting better it’s great to get some fresh air. Get outside!!!

Peloton Rides

I’ve really upped my biking with this quarantine. I mean I always had time but I just felt like I needed to do other things. Why, not sure. Anyways I’ve been using her morning naps to get in about 45 minutes of riding! I’ve been riding 4 or 5 days a week which is way more than normal. And I’m loving it!

Local News

Staying up to date on what’s happening here in Kentucky is super helpful. Governor Beshear’s daily briefings at 5 pm are on our schedule everyday! It’s calming to know what’s going on right here – not what’s happening everywhere (that can be overwhelming). I feel reassured knowing what is happening in our state and what the plan is. Local news is so invaluable in a time like this – I highly recommend watching your local news stations.

Eating Well

I used to “save” good meals for when my husband was around for dinner. No more! I’m making what I want even if it’s just baby girl and I.

Well guys, not a groundbreaking post but those are the things that are keeping me calm and collected each day. I hope you find the routine you need in this unsettling time! We will get through it together!
