Mother’s Day 2020 Gift Guide

Happy May! I hope the sun is shining and the birds are chirping where you are 🙂 These photos are from February so don’t worry, there’s no snow here right now haha.

Next Sunday is Mother’s Day. It’s such a great occasion to celebrate the moms in our lives! It might be different than normal because of the climate we’re in, but I hope these suggestions are still helpful. Today I wanted to share ten gift ideas that span the gamut of price and type so you can get an idea for virtually any mom!

  1. A Dyson cordless vacuum. I use mine three times a day! If it ever dies I will 10000000% repurchase.
  2. Matching loungewear top and bottom
  3. A Peloton bikeread my full review after a year of owning. Giving a gift like this isn’t pressuring anyone to lose weight (etc), it’s a great gifts that allows you to make time for yourself!
  4. Gift card to a local spa to use when they reopen. I love Spalon Montage and Juut Edina in Minnesota, and Atea and Prive in Lexington.
  5. A Nespresso machine – pro tip, put it in your bedroom so you can make a cup right when you wake up in the morning 🙂
  6. A beautiful kitchen itemlike a Le Creuset pan. Functional, beautiful and something she wouldn’t buy for herself!
  7. Straw bag for summer – this, this, or this
  8. Gift a family photography session. Sometimes it seems like a waste to pay for a photographer just for fun, but I guarantee that you won’t regret it. The quality is so much better than anything you could take on your own! Plus it’s fun to get dressed and ready. We used Casey Jackson for the photos above and I would highly recommend her if you’re in the Twin Cities area.
  9. A personalized recipe cutting board – does your mom or grandma have a recipe that is just *theirs*? Get it engraved on a cutting board!
  10. A specifically planned night out – I mean pick the location, get a babysitter, and plan the whole night. Don’t say “we will go out” – if it’s for your wife, plan every detail. I even think this is fun to do with your mom – give her the gift of a lunch or dinner at a place you both enjoy.

Don’t forget to order flowers – seriously flowers are a necessity for me! For ordering online I’ve found the best quality at Farmgirl Flowers or the Bouqs. Or if you have the option use a local florist, like Flowers of Edina. I’m not including this in my gift list because they should just happen anyways 🙂

However you celebrate, I hope it’s a special and memorable day!
