What I’m Buying for Baby #2

Hi guys! It feels like we’re moving closer to baby time over here so I’m buying what we need for baby #2. We have a lot of great gear we will reuse but we need a few new things. I’ll share what we already have and plan to use again at the bottom of the post.

I cannot wait to snuggle another baby!!!!!!!

But here’s what I have on my list to buy!

For Sleeping…

Another of our favorite swaddles – the Ollie Swaddle. It’s the easiest to use and super strong as baby gets bigger and stronger.

A mini crib for our bedroom. It’s small enough to fit perfectly and I can keep it right next to our bed. Last time we used our pack and play but I don’t want to have to put that down every time we go to the cabin and need to use it. Plus I know you can use a mini crib until 18 months – and I want to wait as long as possible to move our toddler out of her crib (she still loves it).

For Fun…

We have the Uppababy Vista so to make it work for two kids we need to purchase a rumble seat. We will put the baby in the carseat nearest me, and our daughter will go into the lower rumble seat. We will still be using our Nuna carseat which we LOVE – and we use this adapter for our stroller. Even if we won’t be back to our long walks for a long time I know we will be using our stroller in the future.

I’ve also bought some basic clothing – it’s so hard to resist! I bought these onesies in 0-3 months and will buy newborn sizes if needed from the hospital 🙂 I did buy this onesie from Target and this from Gap for fun! I’m planning on buying 5/6 onesies, 4 sleepers and then a few cute rompers or bubbles. I snagged this outfit from Lou Lou for coming home from the hospital.

Random Essentials…

A nightlight for both the hospital and overnight nursing. I might also get a diaper caddy because I won’t be going into a nursery overnight for nursing and diaper changes (two bedroom life!). I will be ordering diapers once baby is here because some babies never use newborn diapers, so thank you Target delivery. I also need another tube of my favorite diaper paste because what we had is long gone.

Some things we own and will be bringing out of storage…

Our Babybjorn seat – this bouncer is pricey but *amazing*. It’s easy to carry around the house (or even bring in the car if you’re going somewhere). It’s perfect for when you need to shower or play with your other kid (I imagine). We also love our Lovevery Playmat and would highly recommend that.

Less exciting but we already have a Nuna infant carseat which we LOVE and will use again. We use a Hatch sound machine nightly, and since baby will be in our room he will “use” it too!

And then we obviously have loads of books, toys, blankets, etc, etc. I’m trying to keep things as minimal as possible because less is truly more when it comes to baby items.

I hope this was helpful if you’re looking for baby gear and I’ll keep you updated on what we do or don’t use! You really don’t need that much and you will quickly find your favorites. AKA don’t buy a wipe warmer – you don’t need it and you’ll never use it 🙂

Everything I mentioned above (and a few things we have but I didn’t mention) is in the carousel below:
