Summer is officially here! Despite having a newborn I still want to take advantage of this summer. Last summer was weird for a few reasons – COVID, and my husband didn’t join us til July – so I want a fun and memorable summer. Here’s what I want to do!
A snap from last summer in my favorite shorts – review here! – that won’t fit this year haha.
Find all the fun outdoor dining
Bring on all the brewery patios and ice cream trips! Honestly it sounds like a fun afternoon to sit outside on a brewery patio with friends. A low-pressure way to get out of the house with a newborn and a toddler. Plus who cares if there are toddlers running around – I don’t!
Hit up beaches & splash pads
Last summer we found some great splash pads and I want to visit those again. I think it’s something that’s easily doable with a toddler and newborn because the newborn can just stay in the stroller 🙂 It would also be super fun to visit some beaches like Wayzata Beach and bring a picnic dinner. Basically I want to spend as much time outside and near the water as possible!
Get to a Twins or Saints game
This might sound out of character but I would love to go to a baseball game. A live event sounds amazing after a year plus of not having them! I don’t even care that baseball isn’t my favorite. It would be a fun way to spend an afternoon.
THE STATE FAIR!!!!!!!!
IT BETTER HAPPEN THIS YEAR! I was so devastated that it was cancelled last year. To make up for it we will be going at least twice. Probably three times. Or more. So much food to eat that I need to visit multiple times! Pronto pups, cheese curds, ice cream from the dairy building, Fresh French Fries…the list goes on!
Maybe a trip?
It’s probably wishful thinking to sneak in a trip but if we can make it happen I would love to go on a mini family vacation. We have never gone on a vacation as a family – every time we traveled was always home to visit family. I would love to do something fun even for a few days!
Date Nights and Girls Nights
This isn’t related to the time of year but I want to get monthly date nights and monthly girls nights on the calendar. It was a long winter and then being pregnant in the spring made it difficult to fit in. But I want to prioritize both while I can!
There you have it – my quick list for this summer! I’m so excited for days and nights outside 🙂
