A few weeks ago we ventured down to the Gulf Coast for a family vacation. It’s the first vacation we’ve taken alone with our kids that wasn’t just a trip to the cabin!
We stayed at Cinnamon Shore which I HIGHLY recommend. The location is perfect, the setting is gorgeous, and you never have to leave! We stayed in this condo which is right on the central town square area of Cinnamon Shore North (South is the under construction area, about a mile away). It was right next to Dylan’s Pizza (husband said the pizza was great!) and Lisabella’s, which we didn’t try. During the summer they have movies and other fun activities out on the green area of the town square.
Cinnamon Shore is awesome because it has resort amenities but you stay in a condo or house. They have houses for up to 20 people to stay! You can rent golf carts, have them setup chairs for you on the beach, or have them start and tend a beach bonfire. We saw so many family groups and friend groups there together – and we are already talking about going back with friends AND family!
The architecture here is SO gorgeous and I loved going for daily walks!
They have bridges for golf carts (or walking) to the beach.
The beach was great and not too busy! I bet it gets crazy on weekends and all summer. It’s very hard sand and definitely not the white, sandy beaches you picture in a place like Florida. You can also drive on the beach in Texas so there is a surprising amount of traffic all the time! They drive behind where the beach chairs are, but you do have to be aware driving a golf cart.
Having them set up an umbrella and chairs was amazing!
We also LOVED the pools. We spent more time at the pools than the beach because someone wanted to eat all the sand….so pool it was. Kiera’s Pool (below) was our favorite. It had a zero depth entry and lots of shallow places for the kids to play. They also have poolside food and drinks at the C Bar. Hello daily Pina Coladas!
I took so so so many photos so sorry if this turned into a photo dump.
I wanted to do a quick list of some things to consider if you are thinking about going to Cinnamon Shore…I hope it helps!
- Prices vary WIDELY for accommodations. Our condo was reasonably priced but the rates varied ton during different days of the week. Consider calling them to get help finding the different pricing options! Some of the Gulf front homes are very very very luxurious and are priced accordingly.
- Cinnamon Shore is the most expensive place to stay in Port Aransas (Port A), but I feel the amenities, resort feel, dining options, and pools are worth the price. There is no where else like this nearby!
- If you have a room on the town square there might be noise and/or lights depending on the activities on the square – like movies. If you are a light sleeper I would recommend bringing a sound machine. (We always travel with one and had no problems)
- There are still some areas of construction at the North complex, but the impacted units will have a warning about noise when you go to book. South is VERY under construction so we do not plan on staying there.
- The staff was very friendly and we were able to ask any questions or book anything via text or an online portal.
- Stop at the H-E-B Plus in Flour Bluff to stock up before you get to Mustang Island – waayyy more affordable and way better food options 🙂
We had such a fantastic week and will definitely be back. We are hoping to make Cinnamon Shore a place we can visit twice a year for fun memories and a guaranteed great time. Missing that Pina Colada right about now!
