We have been doing a lot of work in our house since we bought it in October. Luckily we’ve had years and years of acquiring tools for projects so today I wanted to share what we use.
Do you need to have all these items before you start a project? Definitely not! But you will realize you need specific tools once you start a project and things just tend to accumulate over years and houses. This is why we need a garage or work area each place we live 🙂
Nail Gun – not essential BUT we have used it a ton for the woodwork we have done around the house. We have this model and it’s larger than others but is more powerful.
Tape Measure – 25 foot, 16 foot
Safety Glasses – wear these ALWAYS!!! My husband has seen many many people who injured themselves not wearing glasses when working.
Impact Driver – a more powerful drill that is great for drilling into concrete or when a normal drill won’t cut it. Makes a great housewarming gift because these aren’t as common to have already!
Shop Vac – clean up all that dust from whatever project without getting your normal vacuum all disgusting!
Drill Bit Set – makes assembling that IKEA furniture much easier!
Laser Level – essential for hanging pictures or drapes. This is the exact model we have and it has worked out great. The horizontal AND vertical lines are key.
Miter Saw – this is essential for any wood project. It was key for putting up picture frame molding in our guest bedroom.
