How I Stay Organized

As I enter into this season of more on our schedule – preschool! – I wanted to share my tips for keeping everything running smoothly. This is what works for me, so take whatever you want to use 🙂

Write Everything Down!

I rely on a paper planner and written to-do lists. If something isn’t written down it simply isn’t on my radar. So every evite, email, everything that has a date attached to it gets written down in my calendar. I write down my husband’s schedule, our school schedule, and any activities we have each week – like swim lessons. It’s great to see everything in one glance!

Two To-Do Lists

I have a daily list of to-dos that includes things like my specific workout for the day. That goes into a dedicated section of my calendar on each day. I also have a list of to-dos I want to get done *sometime* that week. That includes things like vacuuming baseboards, mopping – other things I want to do before the week ends. Keeping two lists helps me keep track of what I need to do each day and as I have time I will add in the weekly items.

Clean!

This isn’t really a life organization tip but keeping my house clean really helps me stay organized. I know where things are and things go back where they belong at the end of the day. Having things tidy helps keep my mind tidy – I’m convinced there’s a connection!
