School starts mid August for some and later in the month for us! We already have our gear because we did a one week school “camp” earlier in the summer, but I want to share what we use and I recommend. Kids are hard on their clothes so these are the items we trust!
Gear
Our school supplies bags so we don’t have to have backpacks. We bought THIS Bentgo box for our 4 year old. I think it will be large enough for a sandwich! The small/divided containers just don’t work for how she eats. Our 2 year old got THIS lunchbox from school because they all have the same ones for his class! We have THIS Yeti for our 4 year old and then THIS much lighter water bottle for our son 🙂
Our school requires all food and water to be labeled with names *and* dates so we stick to something very fancy – painters tape! Seriously. I considered buying stickers but then I realized I still had to write the date each day. So THIS is my fancy solution.
Clothes
We stick to pretty basic clothes but I have learned one *very* important lesson. You get what you pay for with kids clothing and shoes and the cheap clothes I bought for school did NOT stand up to the playing and washing. I am actually able to get stains out of tops from Hanna Andersson or Gap, compared to permanent stains or discoloration in the cheaper tops from Target, for example. So learn from my mistake and buy quality clothes! I also buy a size up for both kids so they can wear the clothes longer 🙂
We love THESE Gap shorts and THESE Hanna Andersson tops for my son. I also just got him THESE adorable New Balance shoes. For my daughter we stick to dresses like THIS from Hanna Andersson, THIS from Beaufort Bonnet Company, and THESE undershorts! She also loves THESE skirts from Target.
I hope you have a great start to the school year – I am excited to get back into more of a routine after the fun of summer 🙂
