Happy August!
We just returned from a trip to Minnesota and just being back in our house is making me so so happy. I love being home 🙂 Here are ten random things on my radar as we get back into our normal routine!
One – If you like a good podcast you MUST listen to Scamanda! So good.
Two – Nothing beats summer in Minnesota – see above 🙂 I was insane in my younger years when I complained about the heat in MN – HA!!!
Three – I’ve been trying to make new recipes and THIS and THIS were both hits!
Four – Lately I’ve been having a lot of good finance discussions with friends. It’s nice to be transparent about those sorts of things! And I always, always recommend the Copilot app for budgeting and keeping track of expenses. We love it!
Five – My obsession with Hill House dresses continues and this is my favorite from their newest collection
Six – The Odette Sweater from J.Crew is as amazing as I expected. I am so glad I finally got it! This post I wrote has really helped me style it in fun ways. Love love love.
Seven – Traveling made me realize how much I love our house. It’s crazy we have been here almost two years! It’s wild to look back and think we were just about to embark on a huge move. It has been so so good!
Eight – I have loved summer but I’m looking forward to the routine of the school year. My kids are so excited for preschool and I’m excited for two days a week without kids. I’m trying to make one day productive (cleaning, laundry, errands I don’t want to do with kids) and the other day fun – like lunch with friends, a walk with friends (without kiddos!) or fun shopping. If you know me I love structure, so I am excited for the fall.
Nine – On that note – it is SO hot here it’s impossible to be outside. I just learned about Seasonal Affective Disorder in hot climates and it makes so much sense! I never experienced SAD living in Minnesota, but the summer here is just so oppressive it’s really limiting. I am ready for it to be in the 90s even! Over 100 everyday is brutal.
Ten – Looking for fun lunchbox snacks? You have to go to Trader Joe’s! They have the most fun snacks that my kiddos love.
