Happy Holiday weekend! We are relaxing today before my husband works this weekend 🙂
One – HOW IS IT JULY?!?! And how was July 4 yesterday. This year has truly been the fastest year…we made this fruit pie for yesterday and it was SO GOOD! Note – the recipe is a double recipe so I cut everything in half for one pie.
Two – I mentioned this on my Instagram but we finally found some mosquito-repelling gadgets that work. These are super effective and we have two to cover our entire patio! Worth every penny! (and they work – seriously we had our yard sprayed every month for 2 years and that did nothing. These worked immediately upon turning them on.
Three – As we approach (kinda?) the school year I have so many thoughts about school and learning and screen time and this article was sad but honestly didn’t surprise me. Are you guys surprised? Also by 4, a stranger should be able to understand 75% of what your child says. I routinely meet kids who are 5 or 6 I can’t understand at all. I feel like it’s all connected….and screen time. Don’t get me started!
Four – I bought uniforms for my daughter and I’m so excited for her and I hope she loves school like we did 🙂
Five – The Facebook marketplace addiction is real over here! On the hunt for a traditional mahogany table to replace my IKEA table. I want leaves to be able to make it bigger for entertaining! Truly would not have expected to be going full-on traditional, but here we are. Also you can check out this post for more dining room inspiration. We did splurge on the Ballard Designs Dayna chairs and I LOVE THEM!
Six – I have been thinking a lot about friendship and moving and community lately. Should I make an entire post with my thoughts???
Seven – My obsession with this sweet cream is intense. I seriously love the iced coffee I make at home (with this Stok Espresso cold brew) more than a Starbucks Vanilla Sweet Cream. I’m being 100% serious and it’s so much cheaper and easier!
Eight – I am so excited for this month of vacations! It’s going to be so fantastic to go on a trip with my husband. He hasn’t been back in Minnesota since January 2023! And he hasn’t flown with us since DECEMBER 2023! I can’t wait for help on a plane – what will I even do?! We have two trips and I’m looking forward to time with friends and family. Honestly sleep is always so bad for my kids on vacation but I know it’s temporary and will go back to normal when we get home. Going to live up the vacation and ignore our schedule (sometimes lol) and know we will make some good memories. I shared a packing list for Lake Tahoe to get me organized and excited!
Nine – Snagged these sandals this week because I wanted something in between my Birkenstocks and my very nice sandals/wedges (for church or date night etc). These are super comfortable and they go with everything! Might bring them to Lake Tahoe…we’ll see. I would size UP fyi. (You can find them here and here and here also.)
Ten – I have been shopping more on Poshmark and this article was super interesting. I also try to sell things sometimes and it doesn’t seem to be worth my time so I’m glad I’m not alone in that haha.
