It’s AUGUST!
I took a little break from the blog and Instagram to enjoy vacation and just quiet days at home. As we get back into the school routine I’m excited for more consistency with schedule and also lots of fun fall things! Here are some things on my mind and radar lately…
One – It’s back to school season! We have a week plus until school starts so I’m enjoying places being quieter while everyone is already back in school 🙂
Two – If you need new water bottles for school this is the BEST kids water bottle. Hands down. No competition. If you need something for school or everyday, THIS IS IT! The only bottle I’ve found that stays cold and doesn’t leak or break within a month.
Three – We spent ten days in Minnesota which was amazing and it was so great to see so many family members. Not relaxing LOL so I’m glad we had a week after with my husband around to relax 🙂 He had some shifts moved to later in the month which gave us more time after vacation. Win win!
Four – I have been trying to weight lift three days a week and I really recommend the Peloton programs Total Strength 1 and Total Strength 2 with Andy. I love the format and they are clear and consistent.
Five – Hill House released another set of new dresses. I am using all my self control not to purchase anymore (I have 5 LOLLLL) but this and this are my favorites if you need some inspiration.
Six – I need some recipe inspiration. **In a serious cooking rut.** If you have some easy weeknight meals you love, send them my way!
Seven – This has to have been the fastest summer ever. It flew by. I feel like school just ended and here we are. Where did the time go?! Anyone else feel this way?!
Eight – It’s funny visiting family and then coming back home – I heard a friend say it’s like we have to separate lives. And it’s true. It’s hard for people who have never moved away from home to realize we have a full and happy live living somewhere else. We have friends and schools and activities and commitments and have truly carved out a life we love. But for some reason I think people feel like we’re just living here temporarily and are on vacation or something! Anyways….it’s funny how this life seems so foreign to people back in Minnesota. Not a negative comment, just a comment 🙂
Nine – My kids are OBSESSED with legos. Lots of building but then negotiating and fighting over what they have. So fun but then not fun…gah. But they are so creative and it’s fun to see what they come up with! If you’re still relying on screens to entertain your kids, bite the bullet and get rid of them and you’ll be shocked at how creative they are. The drawings and art and creations of my 5 year old always amaze me!
Ten – Don’t freak out but I’m thinking about thrifting Christmas presents for my kids. They want more legos or American Girl doll items which are all over Facebook Marketplace and a kids resale store by us. A way to save money and cut back on waste! I’ll let you know if I really end up doing it 🙂
Have a great week!
