If you follow me on Instagram (if you don’t, go find me! @helenlovesblog) you’ve probably noticed that I have a new jean addiction. I’ve worn these Blank NYC distressed jeans basically everyday since I got them. Yesterday was no different – they’re so easy to throw on to run errands or go to dinner! Plus they’re high waisted = perfect for eating fried chicken. (Highly recommend Gus’ Fried Chicken!)
So the story of finally getting these jeans is complicated. This is actually the third time I’ve ordered them! The exact same pair, three different times. The first time I ordered them I got a pair with an insane acid wash that literally looked like hand prints on my butt. I’m not joking – it was so weird! Plus they’re very distressed and it seemed like a bit too much. So back to Nordstrom they went.
The second time I ordered them was an accident – I thought they were a different pair of distressed jeans, not ones I had already tried! Well I got them from Shopbop (during their big sale) and returned them because the wash was still super weird.
Well fast forward to now and Nordstrom’s triple points weekend appeared and I had been seeing these jeans all over Instagram. The funny thing was that the pictures I would see looked NOTHING like the pairs I had in the past! The wash was way less acid/crazy and more sedate. So I hop over to Nordstrom, read some reviews, and it turns out the wash varies a ton and can really be different with each pair. One review said she ordered three pairs at the same time and they all looked super different.
So I took the plunge and ordered another pair – and the wash was soooo much better this time around! I think they run a tiny bit large so I might need to size down (I’m in between sizes with jeans anyways). Moral of the story – if you order these jeans and you don’t love the wash, order another pair!
