So the master bedroom in our new house is quite large – which is awesome, but means it needs to be decorated! Our bedroom in our apartment fit our queen bed, two small side tables, and that was it. So needless to say we don’t have any cute, extra furniture. I wanted to share some items I’m eyeing for our room. Today we’re driving up to Ikea to get some random things, and maybe pick up some of the items I’ve got listed below!
In terms of furniture, the only item we really need is a dresser. We sold one because it was old and not worth moving – and even though we have a big closet, one set of drawers isn’t enough! I’m loving the simplicity of this white dresser. The detailed drawers of this dresser are cute too. But I’m definitely going to need to tape out how these dressers would fit! I also love the Ikea Hemnes dresser and the grey might be perfect in our room.
The rest of the items we “need” are more fun 🙂 I definitely need a new floor mirror – we sold the one we had (it was super flimsy and wouldn’t have survived a move). I love the simplicity of this silver mirror and this brass one. I also love this round mirror!
I also love this fiddle leaf fig and think it would be a great addition to the room. Adding green (real or fake!) really softens up a space! My parents had two of these in their apartment and they look so good. I’m not the best with plants or flowers, so something fake would honestly be preferable! You honestly can’t tell these aren’t real from across a room.
The hardest part in any room is wall decorations – in my opinion at least. I definitely want to make a gallery wall with frames and photos we already have (in these frames from Ikea) but that leaves 3 more blank walls….so here are some images from Pinterest that are inspiring me for decorating!
I love the three photos above the bed here, and I’m definitely going to get some lighter curtains! We have blackout blinds but I want something softer for the room as well – like these. (Source)

I have some extra photo rails I don’t know where to put, and a TON of framed photos! Maybe I should setup the long photo rail above our bed? (source)
Ok I LOVE everything about this room – the rug, the light fixture, and especially the art above the headboard! The size makes a statement but it’s still neutral. Plus it has a similar color scheme to our headboard and bedding, so it’s a great source of inspiration! (source)
