One thing I love about spring is light layers – like this outfit! A light pink sweater and a simple top is such an easy outfit for anyone to create.
I do love winter layers – I love being cozy, sitting by the fire, drinking hot chocolate – but it’s nice to shed off those layers without going all the way to shorts. I’m much more comfortable in jeans and a sweater, so these cool days are dreamy!
Plus my favorite jeans and this basic top are the perfect base for spring outfits – versatile and they don’t make a statement on their own. But they really are heavy-hitters in my wardrobe! This top is a newer addition but I’m wearing it weekly already (more about it here). And if you’ve been around for a while you know these are my favorite jeans!
Sweater: Nordstrom // Top: Target – talked about it more in this post! // Jeans: Madewell // Flats: old from Nordstrom, similar // Purse: Michael Kors // Sunglasses: Tory Burch
The wind was insane the day we took these photos – my hair was flying all over the place until I added some sunglasses! So sorry that I’m grabbing my hair in some of these photos, it was a bit impossible to control. You have to take the sunny days you get for blog photos, even if it’s windy!
Back to the outfit – I also love the length of this sweater. It hits me right above the knee so it’s not full-duster but it’s definitely longer than a cardigan. And the blush color – so so perfect for spring! I have also worn it with dresses because it is either a bit longer or a bit shorter, so it doesn’t look like an awkward length.
And yes I’ve worn this top a lot lately but it is the best under $20 top I’ve bought in a long time. If you don’t own it already you should run to Target and get it for yourself. It’s cute tucked into pants or tied!
Before I sign off, I just have to comment on how weird the weather has been lately. We have one day of 60 and sunny, and then 4 days of 30s/40s and rain and snow. I’m still confused between winter and spring outfits….so thank goodness for transitional looks like this one!
