The temps are warming up and summer is SO close! So it’s time to break out those denim shorts!
I really lean towards dresses in warm temps, but shorts as a must for summer. Honestly I’ve been looking for a pair of shorts that I LOVE for years. Nothing has seemed to fit right or look right – either too tight, too short, or too long. But I’ve found some great options that are cute but not too short or too revealing!
Denim shorts are somewhat “trendy” in my book, so I don’t want to spend a significant chunk of money. Everything I share in this post is under $75 – I definitely don’t want to spend more than that on shorts! And the ones I’m wearing in the pictures are under $20 from Target = winning!

I love that I’ve found a pair of shorts that are cute and don’t make me self conscious. It’s never fun to wear something that makes you uncomfortable – or that you buy and then never wear! And I think that’s the key to shorts – everyone has a different inseam length they’re comfortable with. So I would really suggest either trying a ton in store or buying them from a site where you can return for free (ASOS, Nordstrom, etc!) so you have enough options.
This outfit has me fully ready for summer! Bring on the barbecues, nights on the deck, and weekends on the lake! Or I can dream of all those things at least 🙂 Oh and happy Friday – I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
