I posted a photo from Keeneland wearing a dress from the Gal Meets Glam Collection – and I realized after talking about them on my stories that I should do a full post!
In case you don’t follow her, Julia Engel is one of my favorite influencers and runs the Gal Meets Glam blog. I’ve followed her on Instagram for years and I read her blog daily! She has the most amazing feminine style and wears dresses effortlessly – so it’s only natural that she would create a line of fantastic dresses.
She had been sharing peaks of the collection for months and it was finally released at Nordstrom in late April. I placed an order right away and the items got here in a few days! I ordered the City Crepe dress in navy and pink and the Ardith gingham dress. I’m wearing the Ardith dress here and will share my thoughts on both below – so keep reading!

And it has pockets!!!
These dresses are flattering, well-made, and timeless. Sure gingham is a pattern but it definitely isn’t a trendy one! The dresses fit well and don’t cling too much – and they are such a flattering length. You can tell that these dresses aren’t cheap and are made to last. I bring up that they aren’t cheaply made because one of the biggest critiques I’ve seen has been the price of the dresses. Honestly, after wearing them, the price is justified. These are well-made dresses that will last as long as you want to wear them!
I don’t have photos of the City Crepe dress but it’s a perfect dress for a formal workplace or events like a baptism, first communion, or wedding. The fabric is thick so it’s extremely flattering and lays nicely. I didn’t keep it because I don’t have that many formal events on the horizon so it just doesn’t fit into my lifestyle right now – but it was so gorgeous and fun to wear!
Also, I love how none of these dresses are too short. Being pretty tall it’s hard to find dresses that are a good length – and I love a good midi dress. These dresses are beautiful without being too short – which can honestly be hard to find.
You’ve probably realized that this is a glowing review, and I really am loving the two pieces I tried from the collection! I highly recommend it and say you should consider it for any event where you need a dress. Also, they are going to be releasing new items each month so the collection will continue to grow – good and bad for those of us trying not to shop like crazy 😉
