So today I’m doing a TOTALLY random post – I wanted to share answers to some questions I get all the time!
I get these questions in person and on IG so I thought I would do a quick roundup. Get ready for some random information!
What is your haircare routine?
I’m an Aveda junkie and only use their shampoo and conditioner (linked my all time favorites!). I also love their straightening cream before I blow dry my hair! Aveda is definitely pricey but I stock up on liters when they have their 20% off sales (maybe twice a year). A liter will last me close to a year so it’s definitely worth it! I don’t want to use something junky when I only cut my hair 2 or 3 times a year. I also had a reaction to drugstore shampoo a few years ago so now I don’t take any chances! I have shared more details about exact tools and products here.
Where do you shop?
My go-tos for clothing are: Target, H&M, Nordstrom, Madewell and Old Navy. I’ve also found some good pieces lately at Abercrombie! (Shocking!!!) Oh and ASOS!
What is it like being married to a Doctor?
Everyone thinks that being married to a doctor is glamorous all the time and it’s NOT! Residency is a brutal process that most people (who aren’t related closely to a doctor) don’t know about. I’ve written a fair amount about residency in posts like this. There are a lot of weekends and nights alone as a residency spouse, and holidays (and weekends!) don’t matter for their schedules. It’s an experience that’s hard to explain because no one truly understands it, but I try my best to share the reality both here and in person. I always found posts by Emily Ann Gemma and Kathleen Barnes super helpful before we started residency! (Their husbands just finished their residencies)
Where are you from?
Most people in Lexington ask where I’m from once they hear my lack of an accent 🙂 My husband and I both grew up in Minneapolis suburbs, then I moved to Maryland for college, and then we both moved to Missouri for Medical School!
What do you do?
I am a Digital Project Manager – which means I manage builds/updates for websites and apps for my clients!
