How am I 6 months along already?!
Time has been flying by, but I already feel like it’s slowing down these past two weeks. As I’ve gotten bigger and feel pregnant all the time, being pregnant is more top-of-mind than it was before! I can no longer hide (intentionally or not!) the fact that I’m pregnant, which is pretty funny.
This has been the first week that I’ve felt pregnant all the time. It’s probably because I have a real bump/belly and my clothing options keep getting more and more limited. It’s funny how quickly things change! Last week I felt like I didn’t look pregnant at all, and now I feel SO pregnant. I’m sure I’ll look back and think I was small now, but I definitely don’t feel like that now.
It’s also easier to talk about being pregnant when people ask – which is kind of random. For a while I would just say something nondescript when people asked how it was going, but now it’s more fun to talk details. Especially if people recently had kids! There are a lot of women in my office who have had kids within the last two years, so it’s nice to chat. And to have people who encourage me to take it easy or realize you might have bad days.
Another fun change recently is some pretty intense cravings for sweets. I mean almost in tears, I have to have dessert, cravings at night. It’s pretty hilarious! I never thought that cravings could be that powerful – WRONG. I was basically almost crying the other night because we didn’t have dessert. So I bought some ice cream at Kroger today – some dessert isn’t the end of the world!
I’ve always been a back sleeper so sleeping on my side is really hard. I wake up and my hips hurt most mornings, so I will definitely be grabbing a heating pad this weekend! I’m also going to swing by Lululemon and try on the Align leggings – a lot of pregnant people recommend them because they’re super stretchy. Apparently you can wear your normal size your entire pregnancy, which seems like a great deal.
I also am obsessed with hot chocolate lately. It’s my favorite Starbucks drink of the moment! I might need to buy some of this amazing mix from Williams Sonoma to make at home. Plus you can’t go wrong with whip cream 🙂
So there you have it. 6 months down! Crazy how time flies although I already feel like it’s slowing down as I get bigger 😉 This weekend my husband works day shifts so we’re going to have a date night tomorrow night – heading to Pies and Pints for my favorite pizza! If you haven’t tried their Chicken Gouda you haven’t lived, trust me. Have a great weekend!
