Prime entertaining season is upon us! Bring on all the cozy nights with friends and family.
I love spending time with people around a great meal, and this is the perfect time of year for it. I’m hoping we can get some people over for dinner before the end of the year because I love winter cooking much more than summer. I also love decorating and using all my favorite serveware! I’m that person who wanted lots of serving pieces for our wedding registry…and we use them.
Anyways, regardless of what you’re serving or the size of the group, here are some ways to create a great environment for any type of entertaining.
Use Simple Decorations
- If you still have branches or pretty greenery in your yard, cut some down to put into a vase
- Cut off pieces of spruce or pine to create garlands on the table and place candles around them
- Or just go crazy with candles – that ambiance cannot be beat! These are my favorite flameless ones FYI.
Showcase All Your Cutest Serving Pieces
- A great tray – white is a perfect neutral base for any type of decorating
- A classic pitcher for water, cider or whatever you want! It’s great to keep hydrated throughout the night without them having to find your sink or water filter, etc.
- Use a wooden serving board for appetizers or snacks
