February is the true brutal winter up here!
You don’t have the anticipation of the holidays or the newness of January. Instead you get the same cold, grey, and it just drags on…so to combat that I have been trying to embrace the weather more!
I got snowshoes for Christmas and they are the perfect way to get outside while pregnant. I have loved cross-country skiing in the past but that’s not safe when pregnant – you have to avoid sports/activities where you can fall, and I fall a lot haha.
We have a lot of parks and trails nearby and it’s so refreshing to get outside and feel the fresh air. During the week the trails are pretty quiet and you can feel like you’re alone.
So while the rest of the country starts talking about spring, I’ll be embracing the last few months of cold. Honestly it won’t be spring til April here – we got married mid-April and it snowed the day after our wedding! I’ll definitely start to anticipate Spring in March, but for now it’s still deep winter.
No matter where you are I hope you’re embracing the season and spending time outside.
Snowshoeing essentials: Airpods, Belt Bag, Snowshoes – which are sold out everywhere but here’s a pair.
