Life Lately – September 2022

It’s been such a great month!

Our daughter started preschool which has been so awesome. She loves it SO much and I LOVE the routine we are in now. Having two days a week with only one kid is lifechanging. It makes errands and tasks around the house so so much easier. Plus she is making friends with her classmates and her fantastic teachers. My husband and I didn’t know how it would go – but suffice to say it has gone better than our wildest dreams.

It has been super hot so it hasn’t felt much like fall. I guess that’s what happens in the deep deep southern US! This week it has finally felt a bit cooler and has dropped to 70 in the morning. Considering it a win 🙂 Because of these crazy temperatures I haven’t done much fall shopping but I did share a fall wish list if you want some cute new clothes or accessories!

We have been walking more again and it just makes us all so happy. Each moment outside is worth it. These temperatures make me excited for the next few months where we can be outside everyday! Such a reversal from Minnesota where summer is the outdoor season – here winter is really when people are outside all the time, patios are full, etc.

Recent Purchases

These chip clips aren’t clips – they slide over your bags and are so handy. We got rid of all our rubber bands and chip clips on all our open bags!

I can’t wait to wear this jean shirt from Target more and more. I envision styling it with joggers, leggings, or black denim.

My son is obsessed with pouches and after dropping too much money on them I finally sprung for refillable ones. Annoying, yes, but so much cheaper AND I can add high fat contents for little high food needs child 🙂

I got this blue tablecloth for a console table and it is such great quality for the price. Highly recommend!

On My Radar

How cute is this headband from Amazon! I think it would be a great statement piece for fall and winter.

I need a new planner as things start to be scheduled for January – I love this and this!

I really want this bag but am using extreme self control to not purchase…

A year ago we were so apprehensive and stressed thinking about moving our family across the country. I can’t believe we had a 5 month old when we moved! When people ask how old my kids were when we moved and then are SHOCKED by his young age – it really brings it all back. Maybe that’s why I don’t remember much of last fall and winter? Between moving, unpacking, getting adjusted to a new city and state, and then going back to Minnesota every 4 weeks for family weddings and holidays – it was a lot.

I just want to remember this time because life is GOOD right now. Our days are good – minus that one kid is up before 6 everyday…but that is the only negative and honestly – I’ll take it! We are so lucky to be so happy, be making friends, and living in a house we love. (More on our house next week!)

I think each move has made me appreciate our little family more and more. Do I miss being by our families? Of course! I wish we didn’t have to rely on calls, texts and Facetime to feel connected. It’s also hard as we get close to the holidays and know that we will be there on Christmas only and miss all the festivities and other fun that go along with this time of year. I know we miss a lot and it’s hard to think about the relationships we don’t have being so far away.

But I’m here to say that each year can be better than the last. I think Covid made us all realize that our lives are worth living and celebrating and spending time with people we love. I cannot believe 2.5 years ago the whole world changed AND we were living in Kentucky! So wild!

Well this turned into a rambling end of the post….you get some of my random thoughts 🙂 Have a great final few days of September!
