10 Things – 7/19/2023

Happy Wednesday!

Taking a break from sale shopping and wanted to catch up with ten things on my radar right now. You can see other similar posts here and here 🙂

Also I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has shopped my sale content recently. I love when you love my content and links (and views) tell me I’m sharing the right things. Thank you!

Enjoy this photo of Heidelberg, Germany from a friend – way more exciting than photos of my kids!

ONE – I have been in a huge recipe rut but have committed to one new recipe a week. I tried this recipe and loved it. This salmon basil also on my list to make!

TWO – My favorite Prime Day purchase was this steam mop. It’s super simple and easy to use and does a great job on my tile.

THREE – I have been doing 20 minute full body workouts intermixed with biking and I love the feeling of pushing myself and getting stronger. There are so many great workouts on the Peloton App. Highly recommend!

FOUR – My kids are in “camp” this week at school and it is amazing to have free time. I felt bad signing them up, but now I have no regrets. Yes I’m a stay at home mom but it’s ok to take time for myself! I need to be ok with seeking help or babysitters when I need them, and this has really encouraged me. I am excited for how much fun they will have when school starts in the fall.

FIVE – Who is going to see Barbie? I’m thinking maybe I will with my mom or nieces! If you haven’t watched this tour of the Barbie set you must.

SIX – Our quilt is ripping (linen…) but I want a king bed so is there a point to buying a new Queen quilt, when I need to buy all new bedding next year anyways? Gah!

SEVEN – I finally worked on the birthday scrapbooks for my kids for their most recent birthdays. I have these from Etsy and they are super simple. Somehow scrapbooking or trying to write down memories really stresses me out. How can I even start to remember all the cute things my kids do?! I’m just in the thick of parenting (4 & 2 year old!) so I really don’t have time to add recording memories to my list everyday. It really stresses me out so I’m trying to help by working on these very simple scrapbooks. Love them!

EIGHT – Sometimes I feel funny when I admit that my kids don’t watch TV. There is a lot of parental judgment when your child isn’t watching the latest episode of Bluey. Really, they’ve never seen a single kids show! We have weekly *family* movie nights and I will let them watch a few minutes of a movie when we are doing my son’s extensive skincare routine a few nights a week – because it keeps him still 🙂 Basically we watch TV together only. One night a week we watch 30 minutes of a movie. If there’s Formula 1 we are obviously watching together. That’s the key – I think it’s a healthy balance and what works for us.

NINE – So there was a new Hill House drop and I got the Ellie in green basketweave!

TEN – I have been going to bed by 9 and it is life changing. I feel so much better when I go to sleep when I’m tired and don’t stay up for no reason. I’ve even gone to bed as early as 8!!! Try it, it might change your life.

I hope you have a great rest of the week!
