5 Essential Beauty Tools

One of my most popular posts is my Current Favorite Makeup where I shared a huge list of all my makeup and skincare. It was basically a huge list of everything I’m currently using and loving in no particular order besides type. So today I wanted to expand a bit on some of the items I mentioned and also add some other ones too!

Drybar Hair Dryer

I mentioned this in my haircare post and I know that a $200 hair dryer can seem a bit ridiculous – I get it! I even thought it was insane until my drugstore hair dryer broke and I needed a new one. It dries my hair faster than ever before, my hair is smoother and has more volume. I think the time savings is worth it for me in general because my hair is so long! I also love how the cord is SUPER long and the dryer isn’t too heavy – both are requirements when buying an expensive one. So if you are looking to upgrade your hair dryer I can’t recommend this enough!

Clarisonic

I talked about this in my makeup post but getting a Clarisonic a year ago was a game changer. My skin had bumps all over that never came out with spot treatments or washing. They weren’t breakouts but they never seemed to go away! Well after a few weeks of using my Clarisonic Mia 2 my skin texture improved and my acne scarring (there as a lot!!) started to fade. It didn’t change overnight – so don’t expect an instant improvement! But consistent using has made my skin so healthy and I don’t get massive breakouts anymore. I got the Mia 2 because I wanted to be able to use the lower speed for my sensitive skin. If you aren’t as concerned about that you could get the traditional Mia which has the “normal” speed!

Tweezerman Tweezers

This might be a silly addition but no tweezers are as good as Tweezerman! I’m sure they have their design patented because they are the best and no one can copy it. They are perfect for those annoying short eyebrows that are creating shadows. Plus they come in fun colors so you don’t lose them as easily 🙂

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

The only eyelash curler that I’ve ever used that will keep a curl all day is Shu Uemura. I’ve tried a bunch of other brands and no one else has the same curling power! They can be hard to find sometimes (they weren’t available in the US for a while) so if you find one buy it. You won’t regret it!

Wet Brush

This is the newest addition to my beauty tools and I’m glad I finally got it! A wet brush is basically a brush that’s super flexible so it won’t break or tear your hair when you brush it. It’s now the only brush I use (on wet or dry hair) and I can tell that it tugs and yanks less than other brushes – hopefully not breaking my hair as much! It’s hard to tell if my hair is really breaking less but I do feel like there is less hair on my hair brush than normal. Plus it’s super cheap and you can buy it anywhere! If you have longer hair this is a must to keep it healthy.

Let me know if you have any questions about the products I’ve mentioned above. I use all of them multiple days a week – and some (i.e. wet brush!) multiple times a day. These are some of my essentials but everyone has different skin/hair so what works for you could easily be different.  Shop all the products I’ve mentioned above in the carousel below – enjoy!
