I cannot believe that I’ve been writing this blog for ONE YEAR! So much has changed since I started, but so much has stayed the same.
The oddest thing is that I got the idea for this blog when we were visiting Lexington. My husband had interviews the whole day so I explored, drank a lot of coffee, and just started writing a bunch of things down in a mini notebook. I’ve always loved writing – I did run a family newspaper for a hot minute – and a blog seemed like the perfect place to share.
Having a hobby has been fantastic this year. In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve got a LOT of nights and weekends alone. And you can’t just watch TV all day! (Trust me, I’ve tried) Writing and coming up with content gives me a creative way to pass the time, and I really do love it. I love styling outfits, sharing tips and tricks, and just sharing what’s going on in my life.
Before I started this blog I found so many posts (mainly on Pinterest) about how much people made in 1 year of blogging, how they gained millions of followers, etc, etc. And I can say that unless you get extremely lucky – that doesn’t happen. There’s actually a lot of work that goes into each post – from photos, to editing, to writing, to planning out social media. And finding outfits is fun but not every outfit you think looks good actually is cute once you take photos…so there’s a lot of behind the scenes work!
I’m so grateful for this hobby and for everyone who has read a post, liked a photo, or interacted with me somehow on social media. From DMs on Instagram asking for advice, to sweet comments – I appreciate it all! So as I embark on year 2 I wanted to ask you guys for your feedback.
