The temperature is finally consistently warm and I love wearing lighter shoes – no more boots!
Changing up the shoes I’m wearing is a clear sign that the seasons are changing. I’m sure you’ve seen some espadrilles in my Instagram posts and outfits, so today I wanted to share some of my spring and summer essential shoes. These are the shoes I break out now and wear until October! And keep reading for some outfits I’ve shared on the blog with these types of shoes!
Sandals
Everyone needs shoes you can just slide on and go, for every errand and time you leave the house. Flip flops are fine, but these below are so so much cuter!
Save: Steve Madden
Splurge: Tory Burch
Espadrilles
Espadrilles are the shoes I wear all summer. I had a pair that I had worn multiple days a week for five years, and they finally broke last summer (the leather literally split in two!). So I needed to get a replacement, and I picked this pair from Sole Society. I’m loving them so much already!
Save: Sole Society – They are heavier than other wedges but easy to walk in – and you don’t feel like you’re going to roll your ankle. They’re low enough to wear for a whole day but still make a statement!
Splurge: Marc Fisher or Chloe
Wedges
Yet another type of shoes you can wear for all your summer events – wedges! I broke up espadrilles and wedges because I would consider wedges taller and a bit less casual. But they can be worn to almost all the same events in my opinion! A great pair of wedges is another summer staple, and perfect for brunches, weddings, or just a fun night out!
Save: Target
Splurge: Marc Fisher
Espadrilles from this post!
Wedges from this one!
Essential sandals like my Jack Rogers!
I definitely have a shoe problem (look in my closet or garage and you’ll agree!) but I love how different shoes signal different seasons or events. I’m excited to wear wedges because then I KNOW it’s warm outside. I also look forward to wearing my Frye boots when it gets cold, so it’s not just a warm-weather thing. The rest of my wardrobe doesn’t change that much with the seasons – wear the same tops, same jeans – but my shoes do. So here’s to hoping it stays warm and we can stick with our fun, spring and summer shoes!
