I haven’t posted in a week because I just updated my blog theme!
Since I started blogging 18 months ago there have been things I wanted to change. But it wasn’t worth spending time or money to update something I might not keep alive. BUT obviously that wasn’t the case! I’m still loving blogging and love this platform for connecting with people near and far.
I love the new look and colors – it feels like me! And I have more flexibility with the photos I upload which is a major essential. No categories have changed, so everything is still in the same spot – fashion, lifestyle, and a page to shop my looks.
Also I want to take this refresh as a chance to really put myself out there. No more smiling when people say I should start a blog – it happens weekly! Instead I’m going to share and hope people enjoy when they read it. Sure, there are definitely some early embarrassing posts, but my content has improved so I’m going to keep plugging away – no shame.

So in honor of the blog refresh I wanted to share a favorite summer outfit – no new items, but some older favorites! After my 10 day wardrobe challenge I’m embracing my favorites without feeling boring or repetitive.
I got this peplum top last year (in two colors!) and it’s one of my favorites for spring and summer. I love to wear it on it’s own and then I just add a jean jacket for the office. I’ve worn it in multiple posts – like this one! – so I’ve definitely gotten so much wear out of it.
Funny that I used to hate distressed shorts….now I have 3 pairs. Whoops. Why did I think I didn’t like distressed shorts? Obviously I was wrong! PS I have a whole roundup if you’re looking for a pair!
