The temps are increasing and it’s officially spring!
I love spring in Lexington – such a great time of year and there are lots of fun things to do! So today I wanted to share a list of some great things you can do in Lex this Spring. We will try to get to some of them, baby in tow!
Keeneland
One of my favorite parts of Lexington is Keeneland! If you’re in town in either April or October it’s a MUST visit. We love to get the $10 Grandstand seats so you’re covered from the weather – sun or rain – but general admission is only $5 and there are tons of places to watch. I’m hoping we can get there this year when my mom is in town to watch our baby girl! She’s a bit too small for it now, so it’s easier to leave her at home most likely. We look forward to it every Spring and Fall. If you want to see what to wear to the meet, check out this post!
Farmer’s Market
We have lived here for 2 years and never made it to the Farmer’s Market. I hope to change that this Spring! We’re up much earlier than we used to be, so getting there on a Saturday morning shouldn’t be too difficult 🙂
Horse Farm Tour
I REALLY want to do a tour of a Horse Farm! I mean I drive by these gorgeous farms all the time and I would love to explore one. I’ve tried to go when we’ve had visitors, but the weather hasn’t cooperated. So maybe my husband and I just need to go on one of the days he isn’t working!
Shaker Village
We have been to Shaker Village once to wander and explore, and they have a lot of great events I want to check out this Spring. They have a Friday Night Fish Fry and outdoor concerts on the weekend (among other things)! **We actually ended up driving down and hiking around Shaker Village last weekend! We will be back soon because we love their trails so much!
Cemetery Walk
So this might sound weird but I definitely want to go walk over at the Lexington Cemetery! They have the most gorgeous blooming trees and (obviously) a lot of paved roads – perfect for a stroller walk.
Ok so this isn’t the longest list – let me know if there’s anything I’m missing! And keep in mind our ability to go out is controlled by our 7 week old 🙂 Fingers crossed the wood weather and sunshine continue!
