Our Favorite Baby Items for the First 6 Months

How do I have a six month old?! Time is INSANE and flying by SOOOOOOOOOOOOO quickly. Understatement of the century but it really does all go by in the blink of an eye. Those newborn days seem like a lifetime ago now!

So now that we’re halfway through our first year as parents, I wanted to share everything we truly love and would recommend. I read a lot of posts while pregnant to try and figure out what to register for, and we did keep our registry pretty minimal. There are so many things you don’t need and won’t use! Plus they grow soooo fast that you really don’t need 500 newborn onesies, for example. Granted we had a very small baby so she was in newborn clothes until almost 3 months 🙂

BUT today’s post has all the items that are tried and true and we would recommend 100%. Some are investment items – like our stroller or monitor – but the cheapest items are $5!

Gear

StrollerUppababy Vista – full review here!!! We use it daily, it collapses super quickly, and we can pop our carseat in with this adapter.

CarseatNuna Pipa. The lightest car seat out there (I think….) and that makes a huge difference when you carry it. Friends who didn’t get this carseat regret it because if you have a 10 lb carseat, it gets super heavy super fast. Plus you can use it without the base so it’s been perfect for travel or using in my husband’s car!

MonitorAudio Only // Video Monitor. The video monitor is pricey but I love it and would recommend it if you want high quality video with helpful analytics!

Baby Bjorn Bouncer – I have no idea why this is so expensive but it’s fantastic. It’s sleek, folds flat, and is a neutral color (win!). She will happily sit in there and play with her toys!

Clothes & Cleaning

For SleepHalo Sleep Sacks // The Ollie Swaddle // Hatch Noise Machine // Taking Cara Babies Newborn Sleep Class

ClothesH&M Onesies // Hanna Andersson PJs // Cloud Island Sleepers // Carters Onesies

RandomGrovia Magic Stick // Vaseline // Nose Frida // Everyone Lotion & Babywash

Toys

Lovevery Play Mat – the BEST and she will happily spend tons of time there daily. We love how you can detach all the toys and she plays with them elsewhere. Plus it comes with a how-to book – which might sound silly but it helps us take advantage of all the elements of this play mat. 100% recommend!

BooksANYTHING Berenstain Bears // Sweet Dreams Peter // Uni the Unicorn

Teething Keys // Buzzy Bee (she is OBSESSED and will work for like 30 minutes to get it) // Red ball toy // Activity Bar // Fluffy Tails Soft Book

I’m sure I’m forgetting something, but these are truly our favorites! Obviously there are other things we like and use, but I wanted to spotlight those essentials. I hope this post is helpful for any of you shopping for yourselves or a friend. When in doubt, go for a gift card 🙂
