My posts lately might be holiday focused, but don’t worry – I’m still getting up and going to work everyday 🙂 Festive posts are fun to write, but I know that my practical posts can be the most popular ones – so today I wanted to share a winter workwear look.
I love winter dressing because of all the layers – I love being cozy! I wore my faux fur vest to work last week and laughed when everyone commented how “you have the best cozy outfits”. YES! I love being cozy – and cute! – and am glad that is coming across. Since I’ve already shared a ton of cozy outfits you could wear to work – with blanket scarves, my favorite pieces – I wanted to pivot a bit today to a more business-y look.
Top: Madewell // Jacket: Barbour, more affordable option // Necklace: Similar from Baublebar // Skirt: similar // Purse: Michael Kors // Tights: Hue // Boots: Frye
Ok so back to this post – winter workwear! This look is basically a winter equivalent of my summer workwear formula. Top + skirt + tights + boots. Works every time! But instead of a plain black pencil skirt I have a fun faux leather skirt – a little detail that spices up this look.
Also this jacket is another all-time favorite. I love how versatile it is and it works for these moderate temps (let’s be real – 30s is not really winter). It’s pricey but will last forever with proper care and is a statement without being too much. It’s perfect for wet weather and I add layers (sweaters!!!) for cooler temps. Plus who doesn’t love statement jewelry? Adding a sparkly necklace really differentiates this look and makes it more than just a top and skirt.
I think jewelry makes a great Christmas gift – I LOVE Baublebar because they have fantastic selection. Trendy but not weird, and at great prices. And adding a piece of statement jewelry can complete any outfit! So since Christmas shopping is still on my mind (pressure!!!) I wanted to round up some of my favorite Baublebar picks:
It’s hard to focus on work when Christmas is right around the corner. I can’t be the only one that thinks that right? We are closed the entire week between Christmas and New Years which is 100% amazing – so I’m counting down to that break. This week is pretty insane but next week should be quieter and then it’s back to MN we go!
